Khaitee . Mills
Khaitee is an abstract mixed-media artist from The Forest of Dean, living in London, UK. She graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, London in 2016 with a BA Hons in Textile Design. Khaitee specialised in print design and created mixed media textiles with an ode to abstract expressionism. She has sold textile designs in New York and Paris to the likes of Armarni, DKNY, MD Gera and Reed Krakoff.
Over the past 5 years Khaitee has focused primarily on painting abstract works as well as nudes - celebrating the female form and spreading body positivity. The intention behind these empowering depictions is to alter perceptions of the naked body; showing women taking ownership of their body and their sexuality appose to being objectified by society. Khaitee hosts life drawing classes with women of all different body types for her subject matter. She also works from nude photos of real women - if you'd like to be a nudie get in touch below.
Khaitee's abstract artworks are mostly conceptual and created with the intent to intrigue and captivate the viewer as well as push boundaries. She uses mixed media, layering brush strokes and a variety of textures to create more interesting surfaces. She has also created varied 3D works using resin, wax and clay among other unconventional materials.
Khaitee is the Manager and resident artist at The New Cross House / NX Haus Art Gallery in New Cross, London.
